Plain-language summary: We collect your name and email address when you register your interest. We use it for one thing: to send you a single message when early access opens. We do not sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

1. Who we are

SigmaSkills ("SigmaSkills", "we", "our", or "us") operates the website at sigmaskills.co.uk. We are the data controller for any personal data collected through this site.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, please contact us at privacy@sigmaskills.co.uk.

2. What data we collect

We collect only what is needed to keep you informed about early access:

  • Full name — so we can address you personally.
  • Email address — so we can contact you when early access opens.
  • Company name (optional) — to help us understand who is interested.
  • Job title (optional) — to help us understand who is interested.

We also collect standard server and analytics data automatically:

  • IP address and approximate location (country/city level)
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and time spent on the site
  • Referring URL

We do not collect any special category data (health, ethnicity, religion, political opinions, etc.) and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

3. How we use your data

We use the personal data you provide for the following purposes:

  • To send you one early-access notification. When early access opens, we will send you a single message to let you know it is your turn.
  • To manage our interest list. We store registrations in our CRM (Attio) to avoid duplicate entries and to keep our list organised.
  • To understand demand. We use aggregated, anonymised information about registrations to make product decisions. This never identifies you individually.

We will not send you marketing emails, newsletters, or unsolicited communications beyond the one message described above unless you separately opt in to receive them.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process your data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Our legal bases are:

  • Consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR) — by ticking the checkbox on our registration form, you give us clear, specific consent to send you early-access communications. You can withdraw this consent at any time (see Section 7).
  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) — for basic website analytics that help us improve the site. We have assessed that this interest does not override your rights and freedoms.

5. Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share it only with the following trusted service providers, who act as data processors on our behalf:

  • Attio (CRM) — stores your registration details. Attio is headquartered in the United States and maintains Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers. See Attio's Privacy Policy.

All processors are bound by contractual obligations to process your data only on our instructions and to keep it secure.

We may also disclose your data where required by law, court order, or regulatory authority, or to protect the rights and safety of SigmaSkills or others.

6. International transfers

Some of our processors store data outside the UK/EEA (for example, on servers in the United States). Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) — so that your data receives an equivalent level of protection.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data (the "right to be forgotten").
  • Restriction — ask us to pause processing while a dispute is resolved.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing. To unsubscribe or have your data deleted, simply email privacy@sigmaskills.co.uk.

We will respond to all requests within one calendar month. There is no charge for exercising your rights.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep your registration data until one of the following occurs:

  • You ask us to delete it; or
  • SigmaSkills ceases operations; or
  • It is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected — for example, if we decide not to launch early access within a reasonable timeframe, we will securely delete all registration data.

Anonymised, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be used to identify you.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls on our CRM, and restricting access to personal data to team members who need it.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you believe your data has been compromised, please contact us immediately at privacy@sigmaskills.co.uk.

10. Cookies and analytics

This site uses minimal cookies. A cookie is a small text file stored on your device.

  • Strictly necessary cookies — these enable core site functionality and cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies — if we enable Google Analytics, it places cookies to count visits and understand how visitors use the site. All data is anonymised before being processed. You can opt out via your browser settings or a browser extension such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.

We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to ad networks.

11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first at privacy@sigmaskills.co.uk — we will do our best to resolve the matter.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's supervisory authority:

Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF
Tel: 0303 123 1113

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify registered users by email before they take effect.

Continued use of the site after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
